Mortal Shell II Beta Progress Tracker
Log the free slice so launch week is easier.
Use this tracker beside the narrative Open Beta guide and the rules page for beta rewards. Inventory mostly resets; skill and a few account flags do not.
Reward flags
- Played ~30 minutes for Flayed Harbinger eligibility — beta rewards
- Progressed beyond Marrow Keep for optional prologue skip — Marrow Keep
- Noted which platform account earned the flags
Story and systems path
- Prologue complete — prologue walkthrough
- Harden / Vatra’s Seal understood — Seals & Harden · combat guide
- Tar Golem sequence finished (kill or story continue)
- Marrow Keep services unlocked (Siphon, Tarforge, travel)
- First beacon cleansed
- Optional dungeon sampled
- Tiel possessed — how to find Shells
- Wandering Shepherd attempted
- Magdalena attempted — boss guide
- Edition decision recorded — editions
Why log the free slice
Without notes you will forget whether the Keep threshold was cleared, whether Tiel felt good, and whether Devout’s three days are worth money. The Open Beta is short on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series alike.
Suggested order
Finish prologue habits from Getting Started, unlock Harden, survive Tar Golem into the Keep, secure the thirty-minute cosmetic timer, then hunt Tiel and Magdalena only if you still have energy. After the list, open the pre-launch checklist.
What not to obsess over
Do not farm every dungeon for loot that will wipe. Do not invent TBA Shell names. Do not trust creators who promise full inventory transfer. Re-read official storefront copy via the links hub the week of August 17–20.
After the beta ends
Export three sentences: Harden lesson, Shell preference, edition choice. Migrate unfinished boxes into the pre-launch checklist. If combat clicked, deepen builds and loadouts. If it bounced, wait for launch patches before spending.

Session templates
Thirty-minute session: download, character create, play continuously, stop when Flayed Harbinger eligibility is likely met, note the account.
Ninety-minute session: prologue → Tar Golem → Marrow Keep services → one beacon → stop with skip-flag progress secured.
Full slice session: add Tiel hunt, optional dungeon, Shepherd, Magdalena attempt, edition decision.
Write which template you used. Future you will thank present you when the wipe lands and only flags remain.
Honesty rules while ticking boxes
Tick a box only when you can explain the lesson in one sentence. “Opened Keep” is weak. “Unlocked Tarforge and set one weapon path” is useful. “Fought Magdalena” is weak. “Died to delayed overhead twice, will Harden it” is useful. That standard keeps this tool from becoming empty gamification.
Platform reminder
Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series betas share scope. Tick which storefront you used at the top of your notes so cosmetic eligibility is not mysterious on launch day. Confirm download names through the links hub. Controls refresh: controls guide. Combat refresh: combat guide and Seals & Harden.
When you stop playing
Close the beta with three artifacts: this checklist screenshot or copy, a one-paragraph Harden lesson, and an edition yes/no. Those three beat a full inventory that will vanish anyway. If friends ask for spoilers, share this tracker instead of a loot list—skill transfers, Tarstones do not. For Magdelena-specific attempt notes, keep a separate line linking to the Magdalena guide so deaths stay searchable later.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for launch week and the open beta.
Does this guarantee carry-forward?
No. It helps you record the documented Flayed Harbinger and Marrow Keep flags plus your practice goals.
Is the beta required?
No, but it is the best free practice before August 20.
What next after finishing the list?
Open the pre-launch checklist and decide on Devout Advanced Access.
Do I need to beat Magdalena for rewards?
No. Flayed Harbinger needs about thirty minutes of play; prologue skip needs progress beyond Marrow Keep.
